Giving it her all – the news story about me in The X
Check out Giving it her all in this month’s The X, a monthly arts and entertainment magazine that covers the Kansas City area. The article features 3 photographs of me by my artwork hanging currently at Cafe Trio.
Mr. James Foley, the reporter writing the article, did a brilliant job capturing my spirit and my love for painting! And the photographer, Paul Beaver, was so fun to work with! He had a vision in mind and positioned me in all the right spots to highlight my work.

Security Benefit's ARTSConnect Campaign
I was invited by Kathy Toelkes to show my artwork to help kick off Security Benefit’s ARTSConnect fundraising campaign on Thursday. I selected 15 paintings to put on display for the afternoon for employees to view during their lunch hour.
Security Benefit is a financial services corporation based out of Topeka. They are very supportive of the local arts community, with their President, Kris Robbins being instrumental in getting the ARTSConnect program started.
ARTSConnect, was founded to enhance and expand access to the arts for everyone in the Topeka community by providing resources to strengthen local arts organizations and positioning Topeka as an arts community.

Local Spotlight – Danelle Groth's Senior Show
Tonight I visited the closing reception for Danelle Groth’s Senior Art Show. Her work is on display in the gallery of Washburn University’s Art Department. She has a wide range of media on exhibit, including: black & white photography, paintings and glasswork – but the majority of the work was photography. Her snapshots featured a variety of different subjects – shots on the farm, shots from Paris, shots from Universal, and portraits.
One of the portraits is particularly captivating – a head and shoulders shot with the model staring right into the camera. The model’s eyes were so powerful . . . like she had a story to tell.
I also really enjoyed the pieces Danelle took on her family farm – that subject matter was particularly dear to my heart as it reminds me of my father.

Cafe Trio Video
I finally figured out how to post the video – too bad I lost a portion of the audio in the process! Enjoy these clips, then go see the show in person! My artwork hangs at Cafe Trio (located at 3535 Broadway) until April 21.

Interview with The Examiner
Tomorrow I’m meeting James Foley, a reporter for a newspaper in Independence called The Examiner, at Cafe Trio. He’s planning to write an article about me and my artwork that will be published in The X, a monthly entertainment magazine.
I’m sure that Brandon and I will stay to eat afterwards . . . the food is great!
